Pinkie's Dance with Eternity

My mother, Miriam Jean Grey (Mills) of 93 years of age died last month in Missouri, not far from where she was born. I was at her side holding her hand and in fact watched her complexion fade as she passed away. During her last years she was affectionately called Pinkie by the attendants due to her life-long love of that color for her dress, her kitchen and the roses in her paintings. A fervent fundamentalist Christian, she was peaceful and ready when she passed away. Though we remained in conflict most of my life about theology, I offer the following painting in honor of her dance with life and eternity, whatever that may entail.
